5 camera trends in 2016 that could redefine photography

There are no two thoughts about the fact that digital photography is going through some exciting times. More and more digital camera suppliers have emerged. Traditional cameras are going through a major decline. The compact camera market has taken a massive hit. It is not just new technology that is changing photography but also the kind of cameras we want. As the years go by, we expect positive changes in digital photography. In the New Year, we hope to see changes in the way we can use our camera to take pictures and videos.

·        Big sensor compacts: We all had definitely accepted it that small cameras have small sensors. It was nearly impossible for us to imagine a normal point and shoot camera have picture quality of a digital SLR camera. But the reality might change soon. A high-end compact camera may have the controls and advanced features of a DSLR camera. High-end impact cameras usually use 1.7 inch sensors. But soon, we may have large sensors. Nikon camera suppliers have incorporated fixed focal length compacts with big sensors. Bigger sensor means bigger lenses.
·   DSLR might rest in peace:Compact system cameras might topple DSLRs. Any new technology can build momentum. Most compact cameras have features and designs that could provide good picture quality. But the only problem with compact cameras is not the technology but the design. Most compact shaped cameras are box shaped with the LCD display and no viewfinder. But the new CSC models have the viewfinder on the top to give DSLR feels. In 2016, people might realise that CSCs are better than DSLRs and more satisfying to use since it is compact, lightweight and smaller.

·        4k video:4K video is a big story now. Many leading smartphones have already rolled out this feature. 4k is nothing but ultra HD. The clarity and speed is amazing. It captures videos at 3,840 x 2,160 pixels. Though you have no intensions of shooting a 4k video, it can significantly have an impact on still photography. 4K videos need very large and fast memory cards. It also needs extremely fast computers to edit the footage later.
Downsized lenses:Big sensors mean big lenses. The size of a lens is proportional to the area of the sensor. Big lenses make the camera bulky. The only way to save a lot of space is by using downsized lenses or increased use of the power zoom lenses.
·   Smart sensors: Smart sensors are those which provide support for various modes of operation and interfacing. It can easily switch between colour capture depth and resolution. It can bring about the necessary stability in a picture.

Therefore, these emerging camera trends are sure to give you the perfect picture.
